1970s Yamaha SC800 Super Combinator Persimmon Red

1970s Yamaha SC800 Super Combinator Persimmon Red

A rad export electric from Yamaha!

Finished in an eye catching 'persimmon red', the SC800 presents as a typical S-style instrument with a twist. The SC800 utilised an interesting set of phase reversal switches, with one for each pickup. Essentially this allows for a wide range of combinations, and specifically engaging phase switching between any combination of pickup. Super fun!

These models boasted an alder body in combination with a bolt on maple neck and ebony fretboard construction. The ceramic pickups original to the instrument have some interesting sonic possibilities, and deliver a robust and straight ahead single coil sound.

Cosmetic condition is good throughout, with only minor dings, scratches and scuffing throughout. There are a couple slightly larger dings on the upper back bout of the instrument. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. Includes a hard case.
